Here's how you can get your spring edition of the Love Our Lake Newsletter

A new edition of the Love Our Lake newsletter is now available.

The newsletter is part of the Love Our Lake campaign, organized by the Lake Massapoag Advisory Committee (LMAC). The campaign aims to limit excess phosphorus nutrients in the lake through education to reduce their use and through green stormwater infrastructure projects. These projects reduce drainage and runoff flowing untreated into the lake. The campaign will educate residents on how they can help through outreach like the newsletter.

The Spring  Love our Lake newsletter has been sent to residents via town water bills and is available on Town of Sharon Lake Massapoag Advisory Committee site at this link.

The committee is also working to reduce legacy phosphorus in the deeper areas of the lake, which is released as temperatures rise and oxygen levels fall in the lake as the summer proceeds, feeding cyanobacteria blooms. The Community Preservation Commission has recommended a $525,000 grant for this purpose which is on the warrant of the Annual Town Meeting on May 6.

To join the Love our Lake campaign, go to www.lakemassapoag.net/love-our-lake.html. On the site you can:
